For our thirtieth wedding anniversary our daughter secretly organised a holiday for us in Italy, and we did the works – Herculaneum (far better than Pompeii), the Amalfi coast, all the sights of Rome, etc. We travelled on the hydrofoil from Sorrento to Naples to visit the Pompeii museum. Naples is the most scarey place I have ever been. I have never felt such a feeling of menace once you started to get off the beaten track anywhere else. It is one place I don’t plan on going back to.
