for my collection. I'd never buy it for myself, too expensive. But he has loads of stuff from years ago when it was inexpensive. And when he finds stuff I don't have he gives it to me. Nice huh?
This was issued for the 1936 Olympics. It is one of two. I don't have the other one.

Very nice
This was the rarest stamp commemorating the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games:

A Jesse Owens reference. True. The Nazis were the supreme racists of the 20th century. They slaughtered millions of people who were not of pure aryan blood.
Glad someone caught that!
One often forgets that our scrawny but nubile leader is thirty-five going on ninety.
Would have thought the rare stamp would have cued another rant...
I knew whose face that was. ... I don't have to comment on each comment, do I?
It's Barry Bonds, Princess. Is there a color photo of Owens?
And replying to posts makes the world go round.
D'ya know, I was actually worried about the racial overtones of 'the stamp' and how it would be received on here. Was all ready to post a picture of my beautiful dau-in-law......
Too small for me to identify. I just presumed it was owens, and yes, there is, I believe, at least one colour photo of Owens.
Certainly there are colour films of him.
I don't believe anyone here has trouble with race or ethnicity. Two of my daughters are brown as beans. Both of them were born in Calcutta.
Oh don't get me wrong Midg, I thought the joke was in poor taste, but I let that slide.
What saddens me more is that the beliefs of "Der Master Race" are still alive in the Neo-Nazi skinheads here in the US and in Europe. Racism and xenophobia are the chief causes of so many of the conflicts in the world today.
PS: Our esteemed leader with the cute, scrawny butt is a historian and far more knowledgable of the past than I am in my three-score years. I've lived more history, but she has read more.
H: 'Midg, I thought the joke was in poor taste, but I let that slide.'
If this is so, you misread the runes, mon ami.
It was intended to be a comment on the poisonous political backdrop of the Games - no more,no less.
