I have a freebie photo editor now no longer supported by Microsoft. I can't remove the "dot" pattern from this photo, nor can I get good contrast. Any suggestions?
It really was a challenge. So I thought laterally and cheated.
Two areas (which make up about a third of the photo) are comprised of sky and grass. I simply dropped in real sky and grass and gave the result a uniform color channel so that they merged.
That left the building (which is the point of the photo after all). I experimented with the contrast but the gaussian blur was virtually useless - the basic image was very poor. Still, the dots give the building some texture.
If there's any interest on here, I'll write up how one can really spice up old photos - the results can be truly amazing.

You need to use Gaussian blur to correct the printed image.
If you'd care to e-mail me the best resolution of the photo, I'll do the magic and return it.
(Do you fish as well?)
Rubbish in; rubbish out!
Bah!
thanks! for what you had to work with, it looks excellent!
